The Louisiana State Police and the District Attorney's Office lodged the charge of attempted murder, second degree, against Elizabeth Bright, 49, 525 Holly St., St. Joseph, on Friday, Sept. 23.

The arrest was made in connection with the Aug. 24 incident on Concordia Park Drive where she reportedly shot at a Concordia Parish Sheriff's Office deputy who was responding to her 911 call for help with a domestic violence incident.

Bright was booked at the Concordia Parish Sheriff's Office and released to home arrest as she is still recovering from injuries sustained when the deputy returned fire, according to Sheriff Randy Maxwell.

Jimmy Williams, 90, 227 Concordia Park, had turned himself in to authorities the night of August 24 and faces a charge of aggravated assault on a police officer with a firearm.
