Early voting ends Saturday A total of 445 early votes -- 413 in-person and 32 by mail -- were counted at the Registrar of Voters office through Tuesday.
Early voting for the Oct. 22 election began Oct. 8 and continues through Saturday, Oct. 15, according to Registrar of Voters Golda Ensminger. Hours to early vote are from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., including the noon hour.
Ensminger said 13,595 voters are eligible to cast ballots in the election.
Candidates on the ballot include:
Sheriff: Robert "Rock" Davis and Kenneth Hedrick, both of Ferriday, and Charles "Junior" Tarver of Wildsville.
Assessor: Jerry Clark and Ryan Paul.
District 21 State Representative: Andy Anders of Clayton and Justin Conner of Ferriday.
Alderman, Ridgecrest: Cindy Halford and Jamie Harrison.
Voters will also cast ballots for BESE District 5, Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Commissioner of Agriculture & Forestry and Commissioner of Insurance.
Additionally, voters will cast ballots on five constitutional amendments and on a parishwide proposition asking if additional homestead exemption should be authorized for certain disabled vets and surviving spouses in Concordia Parish.
