Run-off set for Tensas assessor Tensas' sheriff and clerk of court were re-elected during Saturday's primary election, while Hattie Chambers Ward and Donna Randolph Ratcliff are in a run-off for assessor.
Sheriff Rickey A. Jones received 1,546 votes (61.5%) to outdistance two challengers -- Edward L. Brown with 745 votes (29.63%) and Johnny Daves with 223 (8.87%)
Clerk of Court Ernest Sikes was re-elected with 1,469 votes (62.11%) to 896 votes (37.89%) for challenger Burnie E. Ratcliff.
In the assessor's race, four candidates sought the post being vacated by longtime assessor Irby S. Gamble, who is retiring.
Ward garnered 1,061 votes (42.82%) of the vote, while Ratcliff polled 732 votes (29.54%) to make the run-off. Ratcliff is a former employee of the assessor's office, while Ward presently works in the office.
