Two booked on attempted murder charges
posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
Two Vidalia area men were booked this morning (Wednesday) on charges of attempted first degree murder in connection with an early Monday morning fight that sent another Vidalia man to a Jackson, Miss., hospital in critical condition, according to Sheriff Randy Maxwell.

The victim, Jeremy Naff, 35, 1615 Camellia St., was allegedly beaten and kicked repeatedly in the head and face during a fight.

Kenneth Brad Fife, 32, 119 Carolyn Circle, was originally charged with second degree battery following the fight in the yard of his residence, and his step-son, Michael H. Hill, 19, same address, was initially charged with simple battery. Both were released on bond on the first charges on Monday.

As the investigation continued and witnesses were questioned throughout Monday and into Tuesday, the Concordia Parish Sheriff's Office initiated warrants on the attempted murder charges against the pair.

According to witnesses, the fight may have stemmed from an argument at an area bar earlier on Christmas night. A 911 call concerning the Carolyn Circle fight was received at 2:58 a.m. Monday.
