Nguyen, Jefferson parish representatives Thao Nguyen of Vidalia High and Richard Jefferson of Ferriday High are among the nominees for the 31st Annual Miss-Lou Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame which will be held Feb. 23 at the Natchez Eola Hotel.
Southeastern Louisiana head football coach Ron Roberts will be the featured speaker.
Nguyen was named to the Class 3A All-Academic Football Team, while Jefferson was named to the Class 2A AllAcademic Team.
Nguyen sported a 3.5 grade point average at Vidalia.

"Academics have always been important to me," Nguyen said. "I know that's an important part of being successful in life."
Nguyen said his favorite subject is math.
"I've always been good in math and it's always come natural to me."
Nguyen said he plans on attending Louisiana Tech and majoring in Kinesiology.
"I hope one day to be an athletic or personal trainer," he said.
Nguyen played running back for the Vikings.
Jefferson has a 2.8 GPA at Ferriday.
"Academics has always been very important to me," said Jefferson, who played quarterback and is a member of the Ferriday basketball team."
Jefferson said history is his favorite subject.
"I know it's important to maintain the role of student-athlete to continue doing what I am doing," he said.
Drake Bergeron of Vidalia Junior High will be recognized for their academic success. Ferriday Junior High will also be represented.
Dinner is scheduled for 7 p.m., followed by Roberts' speech and the awarding of scholarships to six Miss-Lou football players.
An Outstanding Contribution to Amateur Football and Distinguished American Award will also be presented.
Vidalia and Ferriday High will both have a senior who played football as their nominee for a scholarship. Every nominee wins one of seven scholarships given out on the night.
A junior high student-athlete will be recognized from Ferriday Junior High and Vidalia Junior High.
The 44-year-old Roberts is from Visalia, Calif., and was a two-time all-conference linebacker at College of the Sequoias in Visalia and transferred to the University of Tennessee at Martin, where he was on the 1988 Gulf South Conference championship team.
Roberts guided Delta State University to four Gulf South Conference championships and four appearances in the NCAA Division II playoffs.
In five years under Roberts, the Statesmen were 47-16, with two of those losses in the 2010 NCAA Division II national championship and the 2011 semifinals. The Statesmen were 11-3 in 2011, when Roberts was named the AFCA Division II Region Coach of the Year, and 11-4 in 2010, when they averaged 31.9 points and 452.9 yards total offense per game.
He was Delta State's defensive coordinator for two years and became head coach in 2007.
He also has worked at Mount Whitney (Calif.) High School, Texas State, Tusculum College in Greeneville, Tenn., Greensboro College, Burroughs High School in California and Houston High School in Germantown, Tenn., his wife's home town.
He graduated from UTM with a degree in Sociology and later earned his master's degree in Education from the University of Memphis in 1992.
Roberts coached Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Ricardo Colclough at Tusculum and Cleveland Browns wide receiver L.J. Castile at Delta State.
"I've got one more hire to make to complete my staff," Roberts said. "The biggest thing now is recruiting. We're putting all our efforts toward bringing in some quality players."
