Mayors head to Washington Monday
by Joey Martin - posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
Mayors Hyram Copeland of Vidalia and Glen McGlothin of Ferriday will lead a small delegation to Washington, D.C. Monday to talk with state Congressional leaders about Highway 84, a port in Vidalia and Broadband Initiative.

"We've set up talks with Sen. Mary Landrieu, Sen. David Vitter and Rep. Rodney Alexander," Copeland said. "We get the opportunity once or twice a year to go to Washington and meet with our representatives face to face. These meetings have always proven beneficial for the city."

McGlothin said he will be discussing the Ferriday water situation and grants.

"We still have several projects out there to be completed," he said. "And I also am going to talk to them about housing."
