Estate payment, pavilion viewed at meeting After failing to meet in January because of lack of a quorum, it was back to business for the Ferriday Board of Aldermen Tuesday in Ferriday.
Alderman Elijah "Stepper" Banks continued to question why a payment had not been made to the estate of former Ferriday Mayor Sammy Davis Jr.
The board previously voted to pay $129,000 in legal services for Davis Jr., who died in 2006.
Last year the board agreed to pay the fees in four equal payments of $32,250 annually over a four-year period commencing on August 1, 2011.
But McGlothin said the town has used all of its money on the water plant and on repairs around the town. For the full story, subscribe to the The Concordia Sentinel's NEW E-Edition! |
