Woman hospitalized after dogs attack

A Ferriday woman is in an Alexandria hospital after being attacked by two pit bulls on Carolina Street on Friday.

Brenda Gale Carter was taken to Riverland Medical Center with injuries to her legs and arms from the attack. She was then transported to Rapides Regional Medical Center where she was treated and released on Monday.

Anitra D. Jefferson of Ferriday, the owner of the dogs, was charged with unlawful ownership of dogs (two counts), violation of leash law and negligent injury.
