Vidalia hosting baseball jamboree
Vidalia High's baseball team will host a junior varsity jamboree Thursday, followed by a varsity jamboree on Friday.
"This will give us a good idea of where we are at," said first-year Vidalia coach Kale Davis. 'We've had some good practices. We've had to deal with the weather, but I hear that's part of it."
The junior varsity jamboree begins at 4 p.m. with a three-inning contest between Monterey's junior varsity squad and Block's jv team.
At 4 p.m., Monterey's JV team meets West Feliciana.
Vidalia's JV team goes three innings against Block JV, followed by Vidalia against West Feliciana.
On Friday, Vidalia's varsity squad takes on West Feliciana at 5 p.m. in a three-inning contest.
West Feliciana meets Bolton at 6 p.m.
Vidalia takes on Bolton in the nightcap.
"It will be interesting to see what the guys do under the lights," Davis said.
Monterey's varsity baseball team will compete in the Block Jamboree on Saturday.
Vidalia's Lady Vikings will compete in the Jena Jamboree Saturday.
The Lady Vikings open their season Monday with a doubleheader against Neville beginning at 4 p.m. in Vidalia.
Monterey's softball team will compete in the Alexandria Senior High Jamboree Saturday.
The Lady Wolves open their season on February 23 with a home contest against Block." |
