A total of 387 early votes -- 307 in person and 80 by mail -- had been cast through Wednesday morning at the Registrar of Voters Office.

According to Registrar Golda Ensminger, early voting for the March 24th election will continue through Saturday, March 17. Office hours will be from 8:30 a.m. until 6 p.m.

She also said there will be a few changes in precinct polling places for some voters on election day:

-- 4-4A and 4-4B voters will vote at the School Board annex on John Dale Drive.

-- 5-1 voters who normally vote at the Shelby Jackson Central Louisiana Technical College in Ferriday will vote at U-Pak on E.E. Wallace due to construction at the vo-tech school.

-- 5-2A voters will cast ballots at Ridgecrest Elementary.

-- 5-2B voters will vote at Ferriday Kindergarten.

"Voter cards denoting these changes have been sent out," Ensminger said.

She said 13,718 voters are eligible to cast ballots in the upcoming referendum.
