Concordia Parish voters will go to the polls on Saturday to cast ballots in a number of local races and in the Presidential Preference Primary.

Clerk of Court Clyde Ray Webber said he anticipates "a fairly good turnout."

He said polls will open at 6 a.m and close at 8 p.m.

Voters will select aldermen and a police chief in Vidalia. aldermen in Clayton, a mayor in Ferriday and police jurors parishwide. Aldermen elections in Ferriday will be held later this year.

A total of 729 early votes -- 638 in person and 91 by mail -- were tallied during the early voting period last week, according to Registrar of Voters Golda Ensminger.

She said 13,718 voters are eligible to cast ballots in the upcoming referendum.
