Obama, Santorum get party nods President Barack Obama received 71 percent of the Democratic Party vote and Rick Santorum 43.53 percent of the Republican vote in presidential primary balloting in Concordia on Saturday.
On the Democrat side, Obama polled 2,110 (70.97%) of the vote. Others receiving votes were John Wolfe, 444 (14.93%); Bob Ely, 225 (7.57%); and Darcy G. Richardson, 194 (6.53%).
The President received 76 percent of the vote statewide.
In the Republican race, Santorum polled 622 votes (43.53%) to 352 (24.63%) for Mitt Romney, 229 (16.03%) for Newt Gingrich and 163 (11.41%) for Newt Gingrich.
Others receiving votes were Charles "Buddy" Roemer, 23; Rick Perry, 20; Michele Bachmann, 13; Randy Crow, 4; and John Huntsman, 3.
