Green scholarship recipients named Kellie Ensminger of Vidalia, Xavier Ellis of Ferriday and Kayla Grimmett of Monterey have been named winners of Ferriday Rotary Club's annual Ben Green Memorial Scholarship for 2011-12.
Each student will receive a $1,500 scholarship from the Ferriday Rotary Club.
The winners were chosen based on an essay, grade point average, ACT score, school and community participation and plans to pursue a degree at a Louisiana college.
Students are scored individually on a point basis by a committee of educators. The essays counted as one-third of the student's score.
The Ben Green Scholarship was created in 1979 following the death of school superintendent Ben Green. For the full story, subscribe to the The Concordia Sentinel's NEW E-Edition! |
