Making Ferriday prosper a goal for mayor-elect Ferriday Mayor-elect Gene Allen said Tuesday he is developing a plan to address a number of issues facing the town during his first 100 days in office and will solicit input from the community on ways to make the town prosper.
Acknowledging that he made mistakes during his first term in office (2004-2008), Allen said he wants to make Ferriday a town the entire community can be proud of.
Before he becomes mayor on July 1, he plans to meet with business owners to develop ideas on how to make the town grow.
"I want to meet with every business in town to see what direction we need to lead this community," he said. "They've got to tell us what they expect. We've got to have an open line between business and government.
"I want to work with the business community and do whatever it takes to make Ferriday grow."For the full story, subscribe to the The Concordia Sentinel's NEW E-Edition! |
