Monterey track team competes at district
Monterey High's boys and girls track team competed at the District 4B meet.
The Lady Wolves placed third overall. The top four finishers in each category advance to the regionals in Alexandria today (Wednesday).
Ellen Bairnsfather captured the 100-meter dash in a time of 13.2, while placing second in the 400-meters at 1:06.9.
Kristin Russell finished second in the 800-run with a time of 2:48.09.
Jody Duncan was second in the javelin with a throw of 101 feet, 5 inches. She was also second in the 100-hurdles at 18.46.
Carli Scott placed second in the discus with a throw of 68 feet, 3.5 inches and was third in the shot put at 23 feet, 10 inches.
Katlyn Baker placed third in the shot put with a throw of 23 feet, 2 inches.
Jadah Scroggins placed fourth in the long jump at 13 feet, 6 inches and fourth in the triple jump at 24 feet, 8 inches. Scroggins was also fourth in the 1600-run at 7:12.20.
Morgan Pecanty, Reagan Tiffee, Kaley Baker and Jody Duncan placed third in the 400-meter relay with a time of 59.8.
Bairnsfather, Pecanty, Baker and Russell placed second in the 1600-meter relay at 4:47.9.
For the boys, Caleb Chapman captured the discus throw.
Elliot Britt won the two mile runa dn was fourth in the mile run.
Brett Wright placed second in the 300-meter hurdles and third in the 110-hurdles.
Dalton Book finished fourth in the 110-hurdles and second in the shot put.
Yankee Duncan placed second in the high jump and fourth in the long jump, triple jump, and javelin. Dylan Louiviere fourth in the shot put.
Tate Strebeck was fourth in the discus.
Kile Lipsey placed fourth in the 100-dash.
The 4 x 100 relay team of Kile Lipsey, Evan Sanford, Ashton Holland, and Brett Wrigh placed second, while the 4 x 200 meter relayteam of Evan Sanford, Tate Strebeck, Cody Carlock, and Ethan Fancher placed third.
The 4 x 400 relay team of Jessie Ables, Lane McEntyre, John Keyes, and Josh Burley placed fourth.
