The Concordia Parish Police Jury recommended Monday night that Tom Baldwin be appointed to the District 5B Justice of the Peace post.

Juror Red Tiffee offered the motion that Baldwin fill the unexpired term of the late Lavear Book, who died on May 2. Book's term expires in 2014.

"The Jury recommends someone to the Supreme Court which will make the appointment," according to Jury Secretary-Treasurer Hazel Dickson.
