Jury officers, committees named The Concordia Parish Police Jury re-elected Melvin Ferrington as president and Red Tiffee as vice-president during its regular meeting Monday night.
The action came after the last three Police Jury elections were decided two weeks ago.
All nine jurors were re-elected. Five were re-elected in March's primary, three in April's run-off and one was unopposed.
They include Cary Cook, Joe Parker Jr., Willie Dunbar, Randy Temple, Whest Shirley, Ferrington, Jerry Beatty, Jimmy Jerningan and Tiffee.
"I think the parish is running well and most of the people are satisfied with the direction we're taking," Ferrington said.
Clerk of Court Clyde Ray Webber said each juror has 30 days from the April 21 run-off election to take the oath of office.
"They're going to come in one at a time to get sworn in," Webber said.
Police Jury elections, originally scheduled for the fall of 2011, were delayed until the Jury's reapportionment plan was approved by the U.S. Department of Justice.
