Ferriday mayor-elect announces appointments

Ferriday mayor-elect Gene Allen announced this week his appointments for various town offices and departments.

His appointments are as follows:

Herman Smith, fire chief; Richard Madison, police chief; Tamika Hines, town clerk; Larry Gordon, streets and sanitation; William McKeel, contractor, waste water treatment; and Myisha Davis, town attorney.

Allen also announced that he has scheduled his inauguration as mayor for Saturday, June 30, at 4 p.m.

The program will be held at Haney's Big House Music Hall on First Street.

Allen was elected mayor over three candidates during spring elections.
