The Concordia Parish Police Jury, with $150,000 earmarked in state capital outlay funding for the Ferriday Health Unit, plans to seek additional funding through a grant to renovate the facility.

Jurors considered renovation five years ago, but the low bid of $394,000 for the work exceeded the $200,000 available for the project.

Heather Urena, Executive Director of Kisatchie-Delta Region Planning & Development District in Alexandria, told jurors during their regular meeting Monday night that legislators approved $150,000 for the project during the recent session.

"This is Priority 2 funding," she said.
