Dixie 11s win district The Concordia Parish 11-year-old All-Stars captured the Dixie Youth Baseball District 5 championship in Monroe.
Concordia Parish now advances to the state tournament to be held in Ponchatula beginning Friday.
Concordia started off district play with a 15-3 win over East Ouachita.
Concordia then suffered its only loss, falling to West Monroe South, 4-3.
Concordia then defeated West Monroe North 11-0. Concordia reached the finals by defeating Monroe 12-8.
In the finals, Concordia defeated Winnsboro 8-4.
Triston Weatherly pitched in every game for Concordia. Drake Smith picked up the win against Monroe, while Caden Poole was the winning pitcher against Winnsboro.
Trenton Miller hit five home runs in the tournament. Drake Smith and Miller had back-to-back home runs in the Monroe game.
The Concordia 9-year-old All-Stars played three games at the district in Monroe.
Concordia fell to Sterlington 11-9 in their first game, but defatted Winnsboro 18-3 in their second game as Peyton Fort was the winning pitcher.
Monroe defeated Concordia 8-2 Sunday to put the all-stars out.
Concordia finished third in the tournament and will begin play in the state tournament in Ponchatula Friday.
The Concordia Parish 14-year-old All-Stars defeated Richland Parish 15-0 Saturday at Kade Passman tossed a no-hitter. Dylan Parnham collected a grand slam in the first inning.
On Sunday, Concordia defeated East Ouachita 12-6 as Cole Cangemi got the win.
Jake Cooper had a 3-run home run.
Concordia's game on Monday was rained out. The local team was scheduled to play Monroe Tuesday night at 8 p.m.
The top two teams advance to state in Bossier City beginning Friday.
The Concordia Parish 12-year-old All-Stars finished second in their district tournament in Alexandria and will be competing in the state tournament in Haughton beginning Friday. |
