Ellis Laine Malone, the daughter of Matt and Heather Malone of Vidalia, was born on April 4, 2012 at which time her family found out she had Apert Syndrome. This particular syndrome affects Ellis' bone growth and development particularly in her skull, hands and feet. Throughout her development, Ellis will have to undergo several reconstructive craniofacial surgeries to allow for brain development and growth of the facial structure.
She will also have reconstructive surgery of the hands and feet to separate the fingers and toes, all of which are currently webbed. Ellis is expected to have her first reconstructive surgery at nine months old and they will continue until approximately 18 years of age.
Ellis' friends and family have created a foundation and a race to assist her with the medical expenses she will incur throughout this time frame. Monetary donations are to be sent to the Ellis Laine
Malone Foundation. All donations are tax deductible.
Checks should be made payable to The Ellis Malone Foundation and sent to the Economic Industrial Development District 112 Front Street Suite C, Vidalia, LA., 71373.
The second 5K race is to benefit the Mardi Gras parade. It will either be held on Dec 1 or Dec 8.
The same route will be used as in the Ellis Malone Benefit Race. |
