Nelson awarded three-year contract

The Concordia Parish School Board on a 6-3 vote awarded Dr. Paul Nelson a three-year contract as superintendent during a special meeting Monday night.

Nelson, 45, will earn $98,000 annually. He contract expires June 30, 2015.

Previously serving as Director of Academic Affairs, Nelson was named superintendent in mid-July, replacing former superintendent Loretta Blankenstein, who retired.
