Couie picked for Saints ad Cindy Couie of Vidalia is going to be the face of New Orleans Saints. Well, one of 22 faces, that is.
Couie entered a contest through Louisiana Lottery to be part of a casting call for an "I Love My Saints" television ad to promote the "I Love My Saints" lottery ticket which will debut at the end of August.
"I saw the promotion on Facebook and read the directions," Couie said. "I had to e-mail 3-to-5 sentences about why I believe I needed to be in the commercial. I told them I am a diehard Saints fan and I am passing that passion on to my kids."
Couie was one of 29 people selected to shoot the commercial last month at Championship Square near the Superdome.
"It was pretty exhausting," Couie said. "It took about an hour and we had to do the same line, 'I Love My Saints' over and over again. It was only 22 of us because seven were unable to show up. It was a lot of fun, but it was hot. They had a big tent with refreshments and compensated us with a goody bag with a Saints shirt and lottery tickets."
Couie was in the middle front row and middle second row for all the shots.
"It was crazy," Couie said. "I kept hollering, 'I Love My Saints' over and over out in the sun and we were all wearying black. That part was kind of awful."
The commercial will begin airing August 27 and run for three or four weeks, Couie said.
"When I see it on television, I think it will hit me what I did," Couie said.
Couie said her family tries to go to three or four games a year. Her 13-year-old daughter, Caylee, is a Junior Saintsation.
"She is going to prefer August 26 in a preseason game and a halftime of a game in January.
"You have to be sponsored by a Saintsation and my husband (Chris) is friends with one," Couie said.
Couie said the ad will show how big a Saint fan she is.
"It lets all of Louisiana know," she said. "Anybody who knows me already knows I am. We're going to the Super Bowl and win in the Superdome. It's been a crazy offseason. I'm glad we finally signed Drew Brees, he's worth every penny. I can't wait until the season starts." |
