Doctor writes new book: 'A Southern Tale
posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
Dr. Herman Gibson's new book -- "A Southern Tale" -- is a story based on his family's history, the Civil War and Concordia Parish.

Gibson, who has been practicing medicine in Ferriday for 60 years, says the book centers on Captain John Clayton and Dr. James Clayton.

He said his family migrated from Georgia to the Black River area of Concordia Parish and later became involved in the Civil War.

Afterward, the family moved to the Tensas River and established Park Plantation.
