Tensas Academy streak broken
by Joey Martin - posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
Tensas Academy's 14-game win streak came to an end as the Chiefs fell to Christian Collegiate Academy of Gulfport 16-12 Friday in St. Joseph.

The contest was a non-district game.

It was the first loss since 2010 for the defending 8-man football state champions.

"We knew it had to end at some point, but just didn't want it to be now," said Tensas Academy assistant coach Nicky Pere. "It was a good game, but we could have played better."

Tensas hosts Chamberlain-Hunt of Port Gibson Friday.

"They usually have some athletes," Pere said. "It will be another challenge for us."
