Parish jobless rate 9.7 percent for August

The jobless rate for Concordia during August 2012 was 9.7 percent, according to preliminary figures released by the Louisiana Department of Labor.

Concordia reported 6,722 workers employed and 718 unemployed.

In neighboring parishes, Catahoula's unemployment rate was 9.3 percent with 3,670 employed, and 378 jobless; Franklin, 11.9 percent, 6,427 with jobs, 870 unemployed; and Tensas, 11.7 percent, 1,501 employed, 198 unemployed.
