Trinity downs ACCS Trinity Episcopal defeated Adams County Christian School 47-27 Friday in the District 5-AA opener for both teams.
Garrett Vinson put Trinity on the board first, returning an interception 53 yards to the AC 25-yard line before scoring on a 25-yard keeper.
Vinson then passed 12 yards to Dre McCoy following a fumbled kickoff.
Trinity went up 21-0 as Tanner Cage exploded on an 82-yard run.
"We always talk about starting well and getting the early tempo," said Trinity coach Josh Loy. "We were able to get some early turnovers and convert them into points. Our guys were really focused and we had a good week of practice."
ACCS got on the board with 6:11 remaining in the opening quarter as Lester Wells scored on a 5-yard run.
But Cage answered with a 42-yard run with 4:08 remaining in the opening period for a 28-7 lead.
Cage added a 48-yard run in the third period and scored on a 33-yard pass from Vinson in the final period.
ACCS visits Centreville, while Trinity travels to Central Private.
"Central Private has an outstanding quarterback and they are very well coached," Loy said.
"We have a big challenge this week."
