A Ferriday man died in a single vehicle crash near Jonesville Thursday night, according to the Louisiana State Police.

Troopers responded to the crash around 10:30 p.m. on LA Hwy 124 south of Jonesville in Catahoula Parish. The crash involved a 1995 Mack (propane truck), driven by Randolph L. Coleman, 63. The Mack was eastbound on LA Hwy 124 when Coleman lost control and partially exited the left side of the roadway before returning to the eastbound lane, according to the State Police.

After returning to the eastbound lane, Coleman overcorrected his vehicle and exited the left side of the roadway before overturning.

Coleman was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected. He was pronounced dead.

The Mack was loaded with 600 gallons of propane. None of the product was released, according to Troop E.

Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation.

Troop E Troopers have investigated 47 fatal crashes in 2012, resulting in 52 fatalities.
