Trinity streak continues
by Joey Martin - posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
Trinity Episcopal scored 21 points in the first quarter and cruised to a 40-6 win over Central Private Friday in Central.

The Saints won their fifth straight game to improve to 5-2 and 3-0 on the road.

"Our defense played one of its better games of the year," said Trinity coach Josh Loy. "Offensively, we were sloppy, but we had a couple of offensive linemen injured and the conditions were pretty bad."

Tanner Cage and Garrett Vinson accounted for the scoring in the first quarter as Cage scored on a 34-yard run and caught a 55-yard pass from Garrett Vinson, while Vinson scored on a 24-yard run.

Carter added the extra points and returned an interception 65 yards for a score in the second quarter.

Cage added a 36-yard run in the third quarter and Zach Young scored on an 8-yard run in the final period.

Trinity visits Prairie View Friday.

"We just have to clean up some mistakes we are making and concentrate on what we are doing," Loy said. "We have a tough stretch coming up that we have to be ready for so we can finish strong."
