Governor cuts ribbon for Ferriday campus dedication
More than 200 persons turned out Tuesday, including Gov. Bobby Jindal, to mark the opening of renovated and expanded Central Louisiana Technical Community College's Ferriday campus.
Jindal said his administration supported the $5.2 million investment to build the new facility, which is made up of nearly 40,000 square feet of instructional and student service areas. He said the facility also features a large auditorium space capable of holding campus events and student activities.
The campus will serve students taking courses in programs such as nursing, business office technology, welding and building technology.
"Investing dollars at Central Louisiana Technical Community College and throughout our community and technical college system was one of my first acts as governor," he said. "We made a commitment to improve the campuses and learning environment for students to help Louisiana continue to have the most highly-skilled workforce in the country.
