Block clinches title

In what was expected to be another classic battle between Block and St. Mary's for the District 4-1A championship, the Bears took out the suspense early in a 32-6 whipping of the Tigers.

"Defensively we played well, but our offensive line is still not as aggressive as I would like them to be," said Block head coach Benny Vault.

Freshman Raymond Plummer, who finished with 126 yards on 24 carries, scored on runs of 2 and 74 yards.

Trevor Vault had touchdown passes of 20 and 27 yards to Dorian Bowman.

Block finishes its regular season at Northwood-Lena Friday.

"Right now we're looking to improve and get ready for the playoffs," said Vault, whose team is currently sitting at No. 9 in the Class A power rankings.

"We need to be playing our best ball at this time of the year."
