Conner pays Ethics Board fees
posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
Justin Conner paid his $2,117.68 debt to the Louisiana Board of Ethics on Monday relating to his unsuccessful 2007 campaign for Clerk of Court.

During a hearing before Judge Kathy Johnson in Seventh Judicial District Court in Vidalia, Conner handed an attorney with the Louisiana Attorney General's Office a check for the amount due which included an unpaid fine, late fees and interest.

In August, the Board of Ethics challenged Conner's candidacy for Justice of the Peace, District 1, due to the unpaid balance. Conner later withdrew from the race.

On June 26, 2008, the Ethics Board ordered Conner to pay $1,560 in late fees "for the failure to timely file the required campaign finance disclosure reports."

On November 14, 2011, a judgment was signed in the 19th Judicial District in East Baton Rouge Parish in that amount plus legal interest and court costs of $556.87, upping the total amount due to $2,116.87.
