CPSO collecting trikes and bikes Santa could use a little help!
The Concordia Parish Sheriff's office is once again collecting trikes and bikes for the children of the parish, according to Sheriff Kenneth Hedrick.
The trustees from the Concordia Parish Correctional Facility have been repairing used bicycles and getting them in good shape for distribution in time for Christmas, but they are running out of bikes.
If you have a tricycle or bicycle your child has outgrown or no one is riding anymore, please bring it to the sheriff's office at the courthouse, 4001 Carter Street, Vidalia. You can drop off at the shop at the back of the courthouse. You don't need to even get out of your car. Someone will take the bike out for you.
It doesn't matter what shape the bicycle is in. If it can't be repaired, the trustees can use the parts on another bike. However, Hedrick says CPSO does have to purchase some new parts to complete the bikes. Monetary donations designated for the bicycle program are needed. Donations of new bicycles are also welcome.
Bicycle donations are being accepted now!
Those interested in applying for a bicycle for their child up to and including age 16 should apply at the Concordia Parish Sheriff's Office Dec. 5-14. The bicycles will be issued Dec. 17-21.For the full story, subscribe to the The Concordia Sentinel's NEW E-Edition! |
