Story Archives: Additional charge filed against former Ridgecrest clerk

Additional charge filed against former Ridgecrest clerk
posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
Former Ridgecrest Town Clerk Dana DeLaughter was arrested last week, Nov. 14, on charges of unauthorized use of an access card relating to her former job.

Both she and former Ridgecrest Mayor Kevin Graham were previously indicted in June on multiple counts of theft, false accounting, filing false public records and malfeasance.

Both have entered not guilty pleas.

A status hearing was held in Seventh Judicial District Court in Vidalia on Nov. 14 for Graham and a trial of motions was held for DeLaughter.

The two were cited earlier this year in a Legislative Audit which found discrepancies amounting to thousands of dollars that were collected in customer utility payments but never deposited in the town's bank accounts.
