Concordia's jobless rate 9.4 percent

Concordia Parish's jobless rate for October was 9.4 percent, down a point from September's rate of 10.4 percent.

According to new figures released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 6,925 parish residents had jobs in October, while 717 were out of work.

In neighboring parishes, Catahoula's jobless rate for October was 8.2 percent, the same as September. Catahoula recorded 3,685 residents were at work in October while 327 were out of work.

In Franklin Parish, 6,643 residents were employed, while 675 were not. The jobless rate dropped in October to 9.2 percent, down from September's rate of 9.8 percent

Tensas Parish reported 1,667 residents with jobs in October and 166 out of work. The jobless rate dropped from 9.5 percent in September to 9.1 percent in October.

Louisiana's October jobless rate lowest in more than three years

Statewide, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell to 6.6 percent in October, the lowest it has been since April 2009, the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported.
