Jury donates $5,000 to CEIDD

The Concordia Parish Police Jury unanimously agreed during its regular meeting Monday night to donate $5,000 to the Concordia Economic & Industrial Development District (CEIDD).

The donation was approved on a motion by Finance Committee Chairman Randy Temple.

CEIDD had requested $15,000 annually from the Jury over a three-year period to support the Miss-Lou Steering Committee's economic plan, and $25,000 from the Jury and the parish's four towns to operate the local CEIDD office and exclusively promote Concordia.

CEIDD Executive Director Heather Malone said that since the Jury didn't outline how the money should be utilized, "there are several scenarios we need to discuss to determine the best use of funds and how we can maximize those funds with potential match."

She said the CEIDD board of directors will meet in January to determine how to utilize the funding.
