Waterways limited to emergency use only due to flooding Sheriff Kenneth Hedrick of Concordia Parish and Sheriff James Glen Kelly of Catahoula Parish have limited local waterways to emergency use only due to flood conditions.
Until further notice emergency-only boat traffic is allowed on Black River Lake, Cross Bayou, Cocodrie Bayou, Workinger Bayou, Lake Concordia and Lake St. John.
Heavy rains have caused flooding in the homes of parish residents.
Law enforcement "hopes people will respect" the property of others "by keeping their boats out of these waters."
The operators of non-emergency boats may receive a citation if observed on these waterways while flood conditions exist. |
