Vidalia garbage rates rising on March 1 Vidalia residents and businesses will see an increase in their garbage rates beginning March 1.
Mayor Hyram Copeland said the rate hike is due to rising operational costs.
He said a decision was made recently not to privatize the service based on comments from the public who wanted to continue operations as is.
Copeland said residential rates will rise from $15.50 per month to $21.95.
Commercial rates will be as follows:
Standard: $50 monthly for one to three regular trash cans.
Four-yard dumpster: $120 per month.
Six-yard dumpster: $160 per month.
Eight-yard dumpster: $190 per month.
Copeland said pickup for residential and commercial standard customers will be twice a week, while pick up for four-yard and above commercial dumpsters will be three times a week. For the full story, subscribe to the The Concordia Sentinel's NEW E-Edition! |
