Code Red available in Catahoula
posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
The early warning system -- Code Red -- is now available to Catahoula Parish residents, according to Ellis Boothe, Director of the Catahoula Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness,

Code Red provides information and updates on weather and public safety through the use of landline and cell telephone numbers, texting and emails.

The service receives information as soon as it is released from the National Weather Service and warns of possible tornadoes, thunderstorms and other weather-related events.

Boothe said there will be a test of the system starting in March.

To sign up, go to www.catahoulaparish.org website.

If there are any questions about this service, contact the Catahoula Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness at 318-744-5697.
