Vidalia baseball drops two
by Joey Martin - posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
Vidalia High's baseball team dropped a pair of games at the Block High Tournament Saturday.

The Vikings fell to Forest 11-2 in their first game before losing a late lead to Delhi Charter in the second game, falling 4-3.

Josh Foucher doubled, while William Handjis and Tyler Sandifer singled.

Against Delhi Charter, Vidalia led 3-2 in the bottom of the sixth and had runners on second and third. The batter had a 2-2 count and the umpire put strike three on him because he said he violated the 10-second rule between pitches.

Delhi Charter scored two runs in the top of the seventh.

Dylan Parnham pitched six innings, struck out five and allowed no earned runs.

Foucher singled twice.

Nate Thomas doubled, while Cole Cangemi, Kyle Coley, Garrett Rehms, Sandifer and Roper Craft singled.

Vidalia's game at Bolton Tuesday was rained out.

The Vikings will play Block Friday in the Monterey Tournament.
