The game was postponed from Friday because of Hurricane Isaac. The win was the first for first-year Trinity coach Josh Loy. "That was special," said Trinity coach Josh Loy. "It didn't really sink in until last night (Monday night) because it was so hot and we were so fatigued. But I have been dreaming about this for a long time." After Bowling Green got on the board first, Garrett Vinson kept the ball on a quarterback keeper, going 26 yards for the score. Carter Smith kicked the conversion for a 7-6 Saint lead. Tanner Cage increased Trinity's lead with a 13-yard TD run. Vinson then hooked up with Wyatt Boothe with 6:09 remaining the third quarter. Bowling Green closed the game to 21-14 before Vinson hooked up with Cage on a 31-yard TD completion. Demarcus Fleming added a 1-yard TD run and scored on a 59-yard scamper. Vinson finished 12-of-17 for 158 yards, while Fleming rushed for 110 yards. "The win was a big shot in the arm for us," Loy said. "Now we have to turn around and get our bodies ready to go again in three days." Trinity visits Silliman Institute Friday. v
