Ferriday alderman pays Ethics Board debt

The Louisiana Board of Ethics has filed a motion to dismiss a judgment filed against a Ferriday alderman.

Alainna Giacone, Communications Director for the Ethics Board, said Tuesday that a check was received in the mail on Sept. 13 from Elijah Banks totaling $182.85 for court costs and interest relating to a decade-old campaign finance disclosure violation.

The board had previously received a $280 check from Banks on Aug. 31 in payment of a fine, Giacone said.
