But Bolton head coach Reynolds Moore knows there is a difference in this year's team and the one the Bears defeated 28-0 in Alexandria last year. "Vidalia got after us," Moore said. "They lost their quarterback (Michael Whitley to knee injury two weeks ago) and that's the heartbeat of your offense. They still blocked hard and played hard and ran a new offense well. They have improved a ton since last year." "It's getting old having a chance to win," said Vidalia coach Gary Paul Parnham. "We had some opportunities, but we had missed blocks and too much arm-tackling." Bolton scored two touchdowns in the first quarter. Tre'l Hall scored on a 1-yard run, while Joseph Wadsworth went 59 yards for a score. Vidalia got on the board with 2:52 remaining in the second quarter as Torrey Smith scored on a 3-yard run with 2:52 remaining. Smith added the conversion run to pull the Vikings to within 14-8. But Bolton's Bruce Radford took a short kickoff by the Vikings and returned it 60 yards for a score to put the Bears up 21-8 at halftime following Bailey Murray's PAT. "That was big for momentum," Moore said. "I told our kickoff team to be awake because I thought he miss-hit the first one." "Our ends crashed in and he was able to get outside," Parnham said. Freshman Jonterris Townsend scored on a 1-yard run with 7:21 remaining in the third period. Townsend led the Vikings with 148 yards on 24 carries, while junior Stewart Mallory had 82 yards on 14 carries. Bolton sealed the game with 6:30 remaining in the game as Reggie Williams completed a 23-yard scoring pass to Wadsworth. Vidalia finished with 256 rushing yards, while holding the Bears to 199. Vidalia hosts Baker Friday for Homecoming.
