Cathedral falls to No. 1 team
by Joey Martin - posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
Cathedral High stayed with Bogue Chitto for a quarter, but the No. 1 Class A Bobcats scored 12 points in the second quarter and 13 in the second half for a 25-0 win over the Green Wave Friday at Cathedral's Homecoming.

Cathedral was held to 65 yards on the ground and 130 through the air.

"They were just a better team than we were," said Cathedral coach Ron Rushing. "Our kids played hard right until the end."

The Green Wave visit Dexter Friday.

"We still control our own destiny," Rushing said. "Dexter only lost about four players from last year. They have a 6-foot-8, 220-pound quarterback who passed for 400 yards against Stringer. They throw it this year like we did last year. We have to move the chains and keep the ball away from them."
