The Bears finished with 502 yards on the ground, led by freshman Raymond Plummer with 212 yards and William Cummings with 165. "I didn't expect that," said Block coach Benny Vault. "I looked at the stats at the end of the game and said, 'Wow.' I knew we moved it well, but I didn't know we did that well." Block travels to St. Mary's in Natchitoches Friday. Those two teams have battled for the district title the past several years. "I have two films and it's like watching two different teams," Vault said. "They look faster in one film. They are young like we are. If we can keep our penalties down and not turn the ball over we should be fine." Adams County Christian School closes out its season with a contest at Columbia Academy Friday. The Rebels dropped their final home contest to Brookhaven Academy, 35-19 Friday in Natchez. "I looked over on the sideline and we had 17 guys not dressed out for one reason or another," said AC coach David King. "We had three eighth-graders, three free freshmen and three sophomores playing at one time. But that's going to be a big boost for our future. We need to play hard Friday and then get in the weight room during the off-season." A Brandon Ross to Shane Pollan pass covering 13 yards cut Brookhaven's lead to 35-12 at halftime. Trey Fleming rushed for 85 yards, while Lester Wells rushed for 72. ACCS ends its season at Columbia Friday. King is completing his first year as ACCS coach.
