Burglars leave loot behind at Vaughan's
posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
Three early morning burglars left without their stolen drugs early Saturday morning after their burglary at Vaughan's Drugs was foiled by Ferriday Police officers.

The three burglars smashed cinderblock at the rear of the building just after 5 a.m. Saturday morning, but the alarm sounded at the Ferriday Police Department, prompting officers to head to the drug store.

Ferriday Police Chief Richard Madison arrived soon after Officer Valerie Clark pulled up and saw a burglar breaking through the front door window.

"The fog was so thick you could not see your hand in front of you," Madison said. "I drove to Texas Avenue to cut off the burglar who fled, not knowing there were two more inside."

Those two also fled, but left behind two large trash bags of drugs stolen from the pharmacy.
