posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
The Concordia Parish Grand Jury last week indicted George Willie Spurs, 66, of Ferriday for manslaughter in the death last spring of 17-year-old Kenya Cauley.

Originally booked with attempted second degree murder, the charges against Spurs were upped to second degree murder following Cauley's death hours after the May 13 shooting.

Judge Leo Boothe of Division B set bond for Spurs at $125,000 following the incident.

Cauley, of Ferriday, was reportedly shot one time in the torso by Spurs at his 153 Earl Davis Rd. residence, according to the Concordia Parish Sheriff's Office.

He was airlifted to an Alexandria area hospital where he died later in the evening.

Cauley was reportedly shot with a 270-bolt action rifle, which was recovered, according to CPSO.

The Grand Jury indicted Spurs on Oct. 29.
