Block hosts Delhi Charter

Block High hosts Delhi Charter in a first round Class A playoff contest after finishing the regular season at 8-2 and earning a No. 7 power ranking.

The Gators are 4-6 on the season.

"Their record does not indicate how well they have played," said Block coach Benny Vault. "They have good size, good speed and they play hard."

Block cruised past Northwood-Lena 34-8 Friday in its final regular season contest.

The Bears led 27-0 after one period.

William Cumming scored two touchdowns for the Bears, while Ken Colbert and Mario Bowman scored one rushing TD each.

Trevor Vault passed 35 yards to Dorian Bowman for another score.

Aaron Bell led the Bear defense with six tackles.

"We have been working hard to improve on offense, defense and special teams," Vault said. "We can't say we're young any more. Our kids have played an entire season. We feel like we're ready and look forward to the challenge."
