Ferriday Police arrested this week three parish residents accused of stealing approximately one-half million dollars worth of merchandise from Fred's Department Store in Ferriday over the course of a year.

Arrests are also anticipated in the recent break-in at Vaughan's Drugs.

Yolanda Marie Sommersville, 35, 98 Nelson St., Clayton; Kenneth Griffin, 22, 514 Kentucky Ave., Ferriday and Darius Cain, 25, 111 Crescent Drive, Ferriday were all charged with felony theft in the Fred's case.

Ferriday Police Investigator D.J. Freeman said the three were arrested after officers viewed video footage and after witness statements were taken.
