'Tipsy Taxi', extra holiday patrols slated
posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
As holiday celebrations continue through New Year's, the Concordia Parish Sheriff's Office will also continue its increased highway patrols, especially targeting impaired drivers and speeders, as well as seat belt violations for adults and children.

Sheriff Kenneth Hedrick said "drinking and drive will not be tolerated. Our main goal will be to keep the intoxicated drivers off the road. We urged everyone to be careful to the highways, observe the speed limits and drive defensively."

The Sheriff's Office will once again offer the "Tipsy Taxi" service on New Year's Eve to those who have been drinking and have no designated driver.

"If you've been drinking and need a ride to get yourself home safely, please call us," Hedrick added. Call 318-336-5231, 757-3162 or 386-2200.
